Veena Sendre Narrates Her Joy Friendship Peak of Himalaya

Trans Beauty Queen Veena Sendre alongwith 25 Transgenders across India won Friendship Peak-one of the highest range of Himalaya.

Veena narrates her dreams of winning mountain range and actual experience of translating her dreams into reality. Veena Sendre,
“Since my childhood, I dreamed that I would climb the peaks of Mount Everest one day. I would always draw pictures in which soldiers carrying the tricolor would be on those high peaks. But it is not so easy that every dream comes true. Time passed between accepting one’s own existence and getting people to accept it.
Recently when I came to know about Project Josh from the Mitwa Committee, I immediately agreed. My selection was confirmed after talking to Aryan Pasha, the owner of Project Josh. Trans Expedition 2020 was very enthusiastic about the rigging on Mount Everest. I got ready for mountain climbing while cycling, running and walking for me were not problems at all.
After a 2-day practice in Manali, we went out for Friendship Peak. We started walking from 6 October and reached Mountain Friendship Peak on 11 October. The experience of reaching Friendship Peak was brand new and full of adventure. Our group had 25 trans people from different parts of the country. Many challenges were encountered during the climb. Lack of oxygen, weight of shoes, deterioration in health due to weather, etc. were also breaking our courage.
Sometimes, there came a time when I felt that I would not be able to take even a step forward but I did not lose courage. We reached on the Friendship Peack, encouraging each other.
During this time many of our companions were also injured. The excitement of reaching Friendship Peak was reflected on everyone’s faces. The dream of reaching the Friendship Peak with a tricolor in our hands came true, and this experience, this joy is unique.”
