State Governent aims to reestablish the glory of villagers

“State Government aims to restore the glory of villages, by strengthening the agriculture sector and by providing employment opportunities for everyone. Steps such as Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana have been taken to strengthen the rural economy”, said Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while virtually addressing the ‘oath-taking’ program of the newly-appointed office-bearers of Chhattisgarh State Farmers Welfare Council, from his residence office today. On this occasion, Chief Minister paid tribute to Shaheed Mahendra Karma and remembered him on his birth anniversary.
Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Dewangan, Cooperative Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Farmers Welfare Council (Krishak Kalyan Parishad) Mr. Surendra Sharma, Chairman, Chhattisgarh State Gau Seva Commission Mahant Shri Ramsunder Das, Chairman, Chhattisgarh Seed Development Corporation Mr. Agni Chandrakar, and Chairman, Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mr. Gyanesh Sharma were present at the programme in the office of Seed Corporation. In the program, Vice-Chairman of Farmers Welfare Council Mr. Mahendra Chandrakar, members Mr. Basant Tati, Nagendra Negi, Sanjay Gupta, Bhagwan Patel, Jankiram Sethia, Nand Kumar Patel, Dehraram Sahu, Khamman Patel, Jagdish Deepak, Sharad Yadav, Shravan Chandrakar, Chunni Lal Verma and Mrs. Shashi Gaur took charge of their offices.
Chief Minister congratulated all the newly-appointed office-bearers of the council and entrusted them with the responsibility to make Gauthans more active and asked them to ensure that every farmer gets benefitted under the state government schemes. He said that the officers of the council should organize the celebration of Hareli festival in the Gauthans. Besides, they were also directed to review the activities being conducted in gauthans and the facilities available there, during their inspection visits to the villages. He said that the Gauthans should be associated with different activities and plantation of Napier grass in Gauthans should be ensured.
Chief Minister said that State Government is making every effort to strengthen the rural economy. Villagers and youth are being connected with productive activities through Rural Industrial Park under Suraaji Gaon Yojana. In order to strengthen agriculture sector, state government has taken the initiative to waive loans of farmers and provide better price for their produce. Forest dwellers are being provided Rs 4000 per standard bag as wages for collection of tendupatta.
He said that farmers of remote areas and collectors of forest produce are also being benefitted under the schemes of state government. Money is going into their pockets and positive effects of the same is visible in the business as well. In Bijapur district, only one tractor was sold in year 2018, but after the loan waiver and paddy procurement at Rs 2500 per quintal, sale of 73 tractors and 1235 motor cycles and one commercial tractor was recorded in Bijapur district in year 2019-20. In the next year, 60 tractors and 1998 motorcycles were sold in this district and in the third year 133 tractors, 968 motorcycles have been sold so far. These include the sale of 11 commercial tractors.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey said that development of agriculture is the foundation of State’s development. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, Chhattisgarh Government is working towards the economic progress of farmers and poor. Revolutionary initiatives have been taken in this direction such as Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana. Provisions have also been made for this scheme in the budget.
