Positive India: As per report published in the NDTV, Shelter Home girls between aged 6 to 15 years have been abused by staff. Delhi Commission for Women inspected the one shelter home and interacted with inmates.
The girls confided that female staff used to put chilli powder in their private parts to punish them. Not only this, any defiance by girls invite severe beating. Even on summer and winter vacations, they are not allowed to visit their homes. Moreover, they are forced to clean all toilets and bathrooms.
Swati Maliwal immediately summoned Dwarka Deputy Police Commissioner and asked to interrogate this serious matter. Police officials and counsellors are on the spot for 24×7 so that girls could be saved.
