JSPL Inaugurates largest TMT Rebar Mill of India At Angul In Odisha

The Union Steel Minister, Ramchandra Prasad Singh, dedicated to the nation state-of-the-art and country’s largest
rebar mill at the 6 Million Tonnes Per annum. Integrated Steel Plant of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) at Angul, Odisha. The rebar mill of 1.4 MTPA capacity is capable of producing 50 mm wide TMT rebar.Mr Singh also visited the world’s first coal gasification based DRI plant of 2 MTPA capacity located at
JSP’s Angul plant itself. Realizing the concept of clean coal, this coal gasification plant has achieved great success in environmental protection and is
preventing 2000 tonnes per day of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.
According to a press release issued here, JSP, a company headed by Mr. Naveen Jindal, is committed to building a self-reliant India. The company has set up this rebar mill as part of its commitment to nation building. In the coming times, the company has many plans for business expansion. JSP aims to
produce 15 MTPA steel at Angul plant by 2025.
JSP Chairman Naveen Jindal said,
” It is our good fortune that the country’s largest rebar mill has been inaugurated today by the Honorable Steel
Minister Govt. Of India. Keeping in mind the Sustainable Development Goals of the nation , we have set up a coal gasification based DRI plant here to meet
the government’s resolve of making India a carbon neutral country by 2070.”
On this occasion, the Managing Director of JSPL, V.R. Sharma said that in the new rebar mill, we will be able to produce 50 mm wide TMT rebar, which is unique in itself. Our research and development team has done this successful experiment, which will prove to be a milestone in the coming times for the construction sector.
