IMA Raipur has strongly protested against the National Medical Commission bill which is threatening the quality of medical education system in India. IMA national president Dr.Ravi led the protest through cycle and bike rally in Raipur.
In a PC, IMA president told the media persons that 35000 doctors from all over India,under the banner of Doctors Mahapanchayat will gather in New Delhi to press its demand to repeal NMC bill, which is threatening the quality medical education system in India. With the introduction of new bill any private player can start medical college without any inspection. Existing private medical colleges can expand their seats upto 250, again without approval and without infrastructure!
Till now MCI has ensured quality of education through its inspection and approval. MCI member Dr. Kamlesh Agrawal told that with the passage of this NMC bill, medical education will become the choice of rich only, as private medical colleges will define their own fee structure at the tune of 60%!.
Chhattisgarh IMA president Dr.Ashok Tripathy opposed the introduction of bridge courses for Ayush doctors, which is bound to prove detrimental for the quality of medical services.
Dr. Sandeep Dave of Ramkrishan Care hospital firmly told that IMA Mahapanchayat will force govt to amend the bill so that quality of medical education must be maintained.
