IAS Sonmoni Borah Gets 100% & Becomes Role Model At Maxwell School-USA

Positive India: Students at the World famous Maxwell School will now read assignment works of Sonmoni Borah , IAS , as Model Papers ! Shri Borah, a Senior IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre is currently pursuing his Executive Master in Public Administration at the World Famous Maxwell School Of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University,New York, USA. He is among the 4 officers who were selected for Government of India’s DFFT Program last year for full sponsorship for the course. It is part of Government of India’s long foreign training! EMPA is an extremely sought after program of the Maxwell School, attracting hundreds of civil servants , professionals and students worldwide for its admission. In fact , Maxwell School is the oldest school in the world devoted primarily for public policy and public administration. It has been a support institution for the US government’s public affairs & public administration.
It is noteworthy that Mr Borah got highest marks in 3 papers out of 4 papers in the last Fall Semester at the school. He scored 100% marks in two papers! Shri Borah scored 100 % marks in Managerial Leadership paper in the last semester which is taught by the acclaimed Teacher in Management, Leadership, Conflict Studies – Prof Catherine Gerard! His assignment papers are now being selected as Model Papers for the current students who can take inputs, understanding and support for their assignments!
Shri Borah has been empanelled as Joint Secretary to Government of India in 2016 and is known for his honest , dedicated and dynamic style of working in the state of chhattisgarh. He created a niche for himself wherever he worked as SDM or District Collector in Districts like Raipur, Bilaspur, Surguja, Kabirdham and Janjgir-Champa or various departments. People went on to strikes for days and there was Bandh in Janjgir-Champa district when he was transferred out to another district . He is credited to and remembered with the facelifts and development of many places, especially, of Janjgir & champa town, Kawardha, Mungeli , Saja , Raipur, Bilaspur, etc where he undertook massive anti encroachment , development and beautification drives and creation of the Crocodile Park in Kotmi Sonar, Bilasa Taal in Bilaspur, Vrindavan Garden at Sarodha, Kabirdham and Khutaghat, to name a few ! He is also credited with successful Tree Plantation drives Vriksh Mitra Maha Abhiyan ! He received National Award twice for MNREGA excellent implementation works at the hands of the PM , Silver Medal for Census 2011 works from the President of India, many National Awards for his works as Housing Board Commissioner, Rehabilitation works for the persons with Disabilities including the Best State Award from Govt of India for Social welfare department during his tenure as its Secretary!
