Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty is like GOD for Me!

I’m writing this experience because people should know that Honesty , Commitment and Trust are still present in medical field!

As you all are aware about Corona Pandemic and how it has badly affected people’s life but fortunately, I was lucky during this Pandemic.

Why I’m saying this; let me explain. I’m Vishal Shivaji Dhavan@Kolhapur ( 38 Years ) and I’m from middle-class family. Month of July was very bad for me, as my mother expired in the middle of July and after that I suffered from fever and cold. Due to Covid19 situation, my family doctor advised me for CT scan for admit procedure.
My goodness! Covid19 tested negative through CT scan report but unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Ascending aorta dissection; and Open heart surgery ( Bentall Procedure ) is only option to repair this.Till date I was not having any medical history. As well as I was not admitted single day in hospital!

That time me and my family was completely collapsed and we started searching for Cardiac Surgeon and during that time I met a few cardiac surgeons for this operation and realized that this surgery is highly expensive and also risk for life. Every cardiac was labelling his price on me without proper justification with no commitment about final amount, no planning of operation. Even they did not touch /check me.

Meanwhile I was planning for operation money by adding Top up on my existing home loan, but that was also not sanctioned by bank and also one of well-known Health insurance company not supported me in this crucial time, even if I’m eligible for Critical illness benefit.

Due to all above uncertainty, I left hope of my life and sat on step of Mahalaxmi Temple (Ambabai Devi) and as of sudden my best friend Rahul Sasane (From Pune) , called and said he had video consulted with Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty and explained me all communication he had with Devi sir. I asked him “ Why are you wasting money for video consultation as every doctor are of the same opinion”. Then he told me actual charges of consultation i.e. 50 INR , I was highly surprised!, because such a great personality available in such an easy way. My friend ( Rahul ) shared me photos of Video consultation with consultation printed report and that was the turning point of my new life , Same day evening my school friends decided to manage expenses of my operation.

Next day morning. we got affordable package of surgery with all kind of further guidance by God …Dr. Devi Sir, physician, magician and kind person!

On 7th of Sept 2020 , I met Dr. Devi sir and his kindness, sincere caring, and concern made everything better and gave great encouragement which built a lot of confidance. Pre-operation process was so well planned and really admirable. Finally, I was operated on 15th Sept 2020 by Dr.Devi Prasad Shetty. At 39 Years, I never dreamed that I would have a heart operation to save my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for repairing mine with great skill. You are truly two amazing, compassionate & brilliant human beings!

During pre and post operation process, I met one more kind personality and he was Dr.Varun Shetty.I would like to say, “Thank Dr.Varun. Your experience and excellence played a big role in boosting up my confidence”.

Dr.Varun’s Kindness,Sincerity,Caring and Concern made everything better and provided great encouragement. Being in a hospital is a terrible experience, but Dr.Varun made me feel like at home. “Your caring and extra effort to make your patient comfortable is truly remarkable.”

By all positive effort of Narayana Hrudayalaya staff and doctors , I got discharged on 24th Sept 2020.
Countless thanks to the entire team of NH and special thank to Mr. Nithin for great ( 24 hours attendance) support .

Now I’m at my native place (Kolhapur- Maharashtra ) taking rest and in recovery path.
I just flash back my critical path of life i.e. last 2 months and came to realized that God could not be everywhere so he made sure that we have doctors like Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty and Dr.Varun Shetty who have the gift of healing mankind . Other doctors simply treat their patients with medicines but forget to do the most important thing which you do – help them to move on with their lives.

I am very grateful for being under the care of such an experienced and capable doctor. Thank you for performing this surgery and for giving me a new chance of life!
