Positive India: Raipur- Chhattisgarh is abundant in resources. Optimal utilization of the resources is necessarily important. It is also important that environment is not harmed in the process. Besides iron and coal, other industries would be promoted, especially agro-based industries, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in his address to the programme organized by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) yesterday evening.
Chief Minister said that the state is known for abundant production of banana, corn, tomato, chickpeas etc, but only paddy-based industries have been promoted and established. In near future, industries based on other crops should also be promoted. The state has sufficient resources for establishing IT, Health and Agro-based industries. Chhattisgarh is well connected to other states. Industry Department is always in support of such industries, and it will encourage establishment of these industries in compliance with environment rules. Setting up industries would generate employment and revenue both.
On the occasion, industrialists shared suggestions and grievances related to various industries and demanded new industrial policy. Chief Minister gave instructions to constitute high-power committee for industrial policy and to chair meeting of officials and industrialists for resolution of grievances. In the discussion, industrialists said that many a times, benefits of the resources available in the state often goes to other states, rather than local industries.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that Chhattisgarh is rich in iron, coal and other resources. Industries in the state should be provided sufficient supply of resources with priority. Dairy industry/animal husbandry related works are in major focus under Narva, Garua, Ghurva, Bari programme. On the occasion, Officials of CII Pankaj Sharda, Ramesh Agrawal, Ms Neeta Karmakar, Satish Pandey and officials of various industries in state were present.
