Nearly 34 thousand 292 sugarcane producing farmers have received Rs 74.24 crore as additional incentives and exchange assistance
With the fourth installment, certified seed producing farmers and sugarcane producing farmers have recieved a total amount of Rs 5702.13 crore under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana
So far, Rs 4597 crore 86 lakh has been paid to the farmers under the scheme
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will transfer Rs one thousand 104 crore 27 lakh to the bank accounts of 18 lakh 43 thousand farmers on March 21 as the fourth instalment under Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana. So far, Rs 4500 crore have been paid to the farmers in three instalments under the scheme. Similarly, Rs 23 crore 62 lakh has been paid in three instalments to 4777 certified seed producing farmers and Rs 74 crore 24 lakh has been paid to 34 thousand 292 sugarcane producing farmers as additional incentives and exchange assistance. With the payment of fourth installment to paddy producing farmers, total amount of Rs 5702 crore 13 lakh is being paid to the authentic seed producing farmers and sugarcane growing farmers. So far, Rs 4597 crore 86 lakh have been paid to the farmers under the scheme.
It is noteworthy that implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana commenced on May 21, the date of death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. This scheme was launched to provide agricultural input assistance to the farmers with an aim to increase the production of major crops in the state. Under the scheme, sugarcane has been included as Rabi crop and along with paddy, 13 other crops such as maize, soybean, groundnut, sesame, pigeonpea, moong, urad, kulthi, ramatil, kodo, kutki, ragi have been included during the Kharif season. The scheme has been partially implemented in the state since Kharif 2019.
Under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, farmers who cultivated paddy in Kharif 2019 are being paid in installments directly into their bank accounts at the rate of Rs. 10 thousand per acre on the basis of the acreage obtained through cooperative society. Under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, total 18.38 lakh farmers including 9.54 lakh marginal farmers, 5.60 lakh small farmers and 3.21 lakh long farmers have been provided Rs 4,500 crore in three installments, and similarly, an amount of Rs 23.62 crore have been paid to 4,777 certified seed growers in three installments. In this way, Rs 4523.62 crore has been paid to a total of 18.43 lakh farmers. And on March 21, 2021, Rs 1104.27 crore will be paid to the beneficiaries as the fourth and final installment. First installment of Rs 1500 crore under the scheme was paid on 21 May 2020, the second installment of Rs 1500 crore was transferred on August 20, 2020, and the third installment of Rs 1500 crore was paid on November 1, 2020, and Rs 23.62 crore have been paid to the seed producing farmers under the scheme. On 21 March 2021, 1104.27 crore will be paid to the farmers as the fourth installment under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. With the fourth instalment and the amount given to the certified seed producing farmers, the beneficiaries would receive total of 5 thousand 627 crore 89 lakh under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana.
