Today, during his two-day tour to Korba district, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inspected the gauthan built at village Mohra of Kartala Tehsil under the ambitious scheme of state government Narva-Garva-Ghurua-Bari. He inspected the arrangements of fodder, water and security arrangements for cattle in gauthan. Chief Minister took information about the various products manufactured by women self help groups at Gauthan. He praised the skill of women members and the products made by them such as vase, diya etc. Chief Minister fed fodder to cows with his own hands and took blessings. On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant, MP Mrs. Jyotsana Mahant, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Revenue Minister Mr. Jaising Agrawal, Parliamentary Secretary Ms Shakuntala Sahu, Jila Panchayat Korba Member Mrs. Preeti Kanwar, Podi Uproda Janpad President Mrs. Santoshi Pendro along with public representatives, farmers and cattle ranchers were present.
Chief Minister had a passing look on the decoration and canopy made by women groups in the gauthan premise. He interacted with the members of women groups and on their request, he directed Collector to provide other means of livelihood to them. In this gauthan built at the cost of nearly Rs 26 lakh, proper facilities of fodder, water supply, shade, treatment and security are available for cattle. There are 375 cattle in this gauthan. He also inspected the pastureland and Baari developed by women self help groups on 7 acres of land.
While interacting with Chief Minister, members of Krishna self help group told that vermi compost is being produced with the cowdung procured in Gauthans. They informed that till date, 180 quintals of vermicompost has been produced, out of which 165 quintal has already been sold. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel approved the request of 5 sewing machines for livelihood of women group members. Mr. Baghel also gave away the cheque of financial aid of Rs 10 thousand 150 to Puja Self Help Group for Kosa Threading work. Meanwhile, a villager Mr. Heerasai informed Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that in last four months, he has earned nearly Rs 13 thousand by selling cowdung under Godhan Nyay Yojana. He thanked Chief Minister for the scheme. Women at Forest and Climatic Change Department’s stall in the gauthan premise gifted a basket of herbal medicines to Chief Minister. They informed that the group manufactures 18 kinds of licensed forest medicines including triphala, herbal coffee etc. Chief minister said that better efforts should be made for value addition through processing of forest produces, so that women of self help groups may earn better profits. On the occasion, District Collector Ms Kiran Kaushal, SP Mr. Abhishek Meena, Jila Panchayat CEO Mr. Kundan Kumar, Forest Department Officials and local public representatives as well as dignitaries were present.
