Positive India: Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh launched the masses’ friendly scheme ‘Public Cycle Sharing’ in Naya Raipur. The project is cost-effective and environment -friendly. He distributed the ‘Cycle Sharing’ cards to the school children and inaugurated the health conscious project. Dr. Raman Singh said that riding cycles will help children and also elders in maintaining health. The Naya Raipur Development Authority sponsored scheme in Naya Raipur will provide cycles at nominal rates. Housing and Environment Minister Mr. Rajesh Munat, Naya Raipur Development Authority Chairman Mr. Aman Singh and other senior officials were also present.
Around 100 cycles are available to citizens and 10 stations had been constructed where the cycles can be taken and left. About 55 kilometre ‘Cycle Track’ had been laid in Naya Raipur. The cycles are equipped with GPS tracking system and will be monitored from the Control Room in Naya Raipur. The cycles can be hired by payments via App, Smart card, Log-in-Pin and Mobile phone. Identity Card proof has to be provided. Company will verify the cards. The programme will encourage cycling in the city due to its low-hiring charges. It will save costs and conserve environment also.
