In a big breakthrough, The Hypersonic Vehicle was launched from the Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Complex at the Wheeler Island on Odisha coast. The HSTDV flew at a speed of 2km/sec! that is at the speed of Mach 6!!.
DRDO has called this a Historic Mission with a giant leap in Indigenous Defence Technologies.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has congratulated the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for successful flight of the Hypersonic Test Demonstration Vehicle.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Congratulations to DRDO for successful flight of the Hypersonic Test Demonstration Vehicle today. The scramjet engine developed by our scientists helped the flight achieve a speed 6 times the speed of sound! Very few countries have such capability today.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated DRDO Scientists, who have made this Historic Mission Accomplished by tweeting the video of test flight of Hypersonic Test Vehicle.
DRDO Chief Dr.Satheesh Reddy said,”This testing paves the way for many more critical technologies,materials and hyperdonic vehicle’s development.
DRDO has said in a media statement,”With this successful demonstration, many critical technologies such as aerodynamic configuration for hypersonic manoeuvers, use of scramjet propulsion for ignition and sustained combustion at hypersonic flow, thermostructural characterisation of high temp materials, separation mechanism st Hypersonic Vehicle will be possible.”
India has entered Hypersonic Regime of US, Russia, and China. Now Indian Hypersonic Cruise Missiles can defeat any Chinese Defence System.
