After IRS, Modi Axe May Fall On Tainted IAS/IPS

Positive India:As per the news published in ThePrint,Modi Govt has directed all the ministries to prepare a list of tainted IAS and IPS officers, who are corrupt and unproductive. Modi Govt is determined to take strict action against such tainted officers. It has already prematurely retired 27 senior officers of IRS, who were involved in corrupt practices.
With bigger mandate of 353 seats, PM Narendra Modi is about to purge Indian Bureaucracy of corruption and unproductiveness.

As per news published, DoPT has issued letter dated 20th June-2019, to all ministries writing, “The ministries/department should ensure that prescribed procedure like forming of opinion to retire a Govt employee prematurely in public interest is strictly adhered to, and the decision must not be on arbitrary ground.”

Modi Govt has directed all the ministries/departments to submit monthly reports of All India Services officers under Fundamental Rule 56(j)(1), and Rule 48 of CCS(Pension) Rules,1972. It is this rule, which provides for the compulsory retirement of tainted IAS/ govt officials in public interest.
