Varuna Is The Pride of Indo-French Naval Exercise.

Positive India:”Varuna” is the Indo-French Naval Exercise. Varuna Exercise is currently going on in and around Pigeon Island,Goa(India).It is progressing with lagre number of fighters taking part from both the sides.
From Indian side Indian Aircraft career INS Vikramaditya with MiG29K on board is participating. French Navy has sent Charles De Gaulle with Rafale fightres on board.
Varuna is combining both reconnaissance and ship phase with particular thrust on submarines detection and its destruction.

“Varuna” naval exercise is an integral part of Indo-French strategic relationship in the 21st century and consists of naval cooperation drills between the French Navy and the Indian Navy.
The joint-exercises are held either in the Indian Ocean or Mediterranean sea with the aim of improving Indo-French coordination on capabilities like cross-deck operations, replenishment-at-sea, minesweeping, anti-submarine warfare and information sharing. It was first started in 1983.
The inaugural Varuna naval exercise took place in 2001. The latest edition of Varuna exercise is the 17th edition are being held between 1 May 2019 to 10 May 2019 at Goa coast.
