Positive India: Election Commission’s SVEEP Program has yielded desired result as Bastar region including Rajnandgaon has seen 76 % voting turnouts. This much turnouts inspite of IED blasts, and ambushes by naxalites has clearly given message that democracy is prevailing over maoism. People are now fed up with maoists insurgency.
Election Commission of India has started Systematic Voters Education And Electoral Participation program to make aware people of their voting rights and cast their votes to choose their own representative. It worked well and 76% of people casted their votes in volatile Bastar. Thus 18 constituencies saw peaceful voting with no untoward mishappennings.
