As per the news published in the NBT,today that is 1st July at 4am Income Tax Department raided the Surya Residency in Bhilai- residence of Soumaya Chourasiya who is Seputy Secretary of CM Bhupesh Baghel. The IT raid is going on for the last 30 hours.
This raid has been kept so secret that not even the Income Tax officials of Chhattisgarh were knowing about this raid. About 2 dozens of IT officials along with hundreds of CRPF personnel from Nagpur, Jabalpur and Delhi conducted the raids. To keep it as a close guarded secret Income Tax officials and CRPF arrived at Durg via roads, so that nobody could know this IT raid.
Soumaya Chourasiya is the close aide of Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel. In the past too, IT Dept has raided the residence of Soumaya Chourasiya.
It is also learnt that IT Dept is also conducting raids on two prominent advocates of Mahasamund District. For this raid IT team has come from Kolkata.
