NHMMI will help other hospitals with its blood banking with GeL Technology.

To celebrate World Blood Donor Day, NHMMI-a unit of Narayana Health; launched its Blood Bank with Transfusion Services with state-of- art technology. This blood bank is with SDP, GeL Technology, Leuco-reduced Red Blood Cells and Chemiluminescene. This Blood Banking facility was inaugurated by Suresh Goel, Ramavtar Agrawal, and NHMMI Facility Director Naveen Sharma.
FD Naveen Sharma-who has joined NHMMI barely a week ago, reiterated the philosophy of Dr.Deviprasad Shetty of providing “Quality Healthcare Services at Affordable Cost.” He further said that NHMMI Blood Bank with a storage capacity of nearly 2000 blood bags will not only provide quality treatment but also spread awareness about blood donations through various Blood Donation Campaigns in Chhattisgarh.
FD Naveen Sharma told that as per the vision of Narayana Health-NHMMI blood bank will not only give benefits to the admitted patients of NH but to the other hospitals of Chhattisgarh too.
World Blood Donor Day is celebrated all over the world to give thanks to voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life saving gifts of blood, and also to raise the awareness of the need for regular blood donations.
Dr.Alok Kumar Swain told that NH blood bank is licensed for red cell concentrates, fresh frozen plasma, platelet concentrates, SPD Leuco-Reduced Red Blood Cells. With this facility, only those blood components will be taken, which are required.Moreover,this blood banking facility will provide help in fighting COVID-19.
Dr.Smriti Rathore, Dr.Neeraj Naik, Ravi Bhagat and his team were present during the launch.
