State Government’s major decision in larger interest of labourers

Retirement age of workers-labourers in factories and organizations of private sector extended from 58 years to 60 years Workers retiring in the current month of August to get immediate benefit

State Government has extended the retirement age for workers-labourers employed in factories and organizations of private sector of the state from 58 years to 60 years. In this way, these employees will get to do service for additional two years. This historical decision was taken under the provisions of Chhattisgarh Industrial Employment (Standing Order) Act 1961, in compliance to the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Labour Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya. Notification in the context has already been published in the extraordinary gazette on August 5, 2019. Now, workers-employees retiring in the month of August will get immediate benefit of this decision.
It is noteworthy that under the provisions of Chhattisgarh Shop and Establishment Act 1958, State Government has decided that all kinds of traders and businessmen will have to get their shops and establishments registered only once. Under the provisions of Chhattisgarh Shop and Establishment Act 1958, it would be compulsory to get the shops and establishments registered under Labour Department. Earlier there was a provision of required renewal in every five years. It is noteworthy that since long time, businesspersons of the state were demanding elimination of this provision of renewal. Keeping in view their demands, this provision of renewal under Chhattisgarh Shop and Establishment Act 1958 was eliminated by Labour Department, on instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Labour Minister Mr. Shiv Daharia
